Samantha Shardlow

Clinical Psychology Registrar

I am a registered Psychologist and I completed my Masters of Clinical Psychology at the University of Queensland.

I have experience working with people of all ages experiencing lots of different issues, and my main passion is working with young people and families. I have worked an inpatient mental health facility, with a particular focus of mine being in trauma and substance use, a private hospital working with chronic pain sufferers, and a Headspace centre working with young people.

I have specialised training in the world-renowned Triple P parenting program, a program that focuses on teaching positive parenting strategies as a way to help maximise positive behaviour in children and adolescents, as well as create a happy and cohesive family environment.

I am here to help people who experience the following issues:

• Anger and aggression
• Anxiety and panic attacks
• Assertiveness difficulties
• Bullying
• Depression and feelings of dysthymia
• Drug and alcohol issues
• Grief and loss
• Mood disorders
• Oppositional behaviour
• Parenting skills
• Relationship problems
• School issues
• School refusal
• Self-esteem and confidence issues
• Separation anxiety
• Stress and adjustment issues
• Tantrums
• Trauma

When I work with people I believe it’s really important to use a collaborative and flexible approach, and I make sure treatment is tailored to suit the needs of each individual. And my work with people is all about helping them become the best version of themselves.
