Priya McCammont

I am a Registered Psychologist with a passion for working with clients across the lifespan (in particular, adolescents). My goal is to support and help empower my clients to most effectively navigate and grow through life’s challenges. I have completed my studies in Psychology and Education at Macquarie University (2004), Charles Sturt University (2011) and the University of Wollongong (2017). I have experience as both a Psychologist and Educator in a variety of settings including private practice, university research, telehealth, and schools. I value working with a diverse group of clients, and I am genuinely curious about people’s individual stories, what motivates them to grow and supporting them on their journey.
I provide individually tailored and evidence-based approaches and strategies to assist clients in gaining a better understanding of themselves, their difficulties and developing effective ways of managing and responding to these. I have worked with many different types of issues including anxiety and mood problems, life transitions, workplace and study stress, relationship and communication difficulties, sleeping problems, self-esteem issues, autism, ADHD and burnout. I primarily work within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) frameworks. These approaches empower clients to develop a greater understanding of their thoughts, feelings and actions, their impacts, and developing new and helpful ways of responding.
