Clinical Psychology Registrar
In my therapeutic work I aim to create a respectful and collaborative environment, encouraging clients to take ownership of their treatment. I am committed to providing the most evidence-based clinical practice, individually-tailored to each client.
I believe that therapy is worth the effort, and together we can work to overcome the obstacles you are facing!
I am a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, and I am currently working towards endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.
I have a Master of Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons Class 1) from the University of Sydney, and I have recently submitted my PhD thesis at the University of Sydney. My PhD research investigated the reasons for, and consequences of, using ostracism (e.g., excluding and ignoring others) in personal relationships.
I am experienced in the psychological assessment and treatment of adults, adolescents, children, and families presenting with a range of difficulties. I work mainly within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) frameworks, and also have experience with Systemic Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA). I am also skilled in the administration and interpretation of a number of developmental and psychometric assessment tools for both adults and children.
I have worked in community health and hospital services, including Westmead Hospital and St George Community Mental Health Service, and university psychology clinics.
I have experience working with individuals with a variety of difficulties, including:
- academic and work-related issues,
- attention difficulties,
- depression and low mood (short-term or persistent),
- general and specific anxiety,
- learning difficulties, and
- oppositional behaviour.
- personality disorders,
- relationship and/or family issues,
- substance and alcohol use,
- suicidal thoughts,
I have also worked independently with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder utilising ABA therapy, and with private organisations promoting mental health awareness.
