Mitch Lowther

Provisional Psychologist

Feeling genuinely heard and understood is an important first step towards positive change. I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their challenges and working towards meaningful goals.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults, with a particular interest in supporting young people and families. My approach is calm, collaborative and practical, helping clients develop effective coping strategies, build resilience and navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence.

I have gained experience across clinical, mental health crisis-support and forensic settings, including supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional difficulties and significant life stressors. My previous work with Lifeline and Wesley Mission has strengthened my compassionate and grounded approach to supporting people through challenging circumstances.
I hold a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) and a Diploma of Counselling and am currently completing a Master of Clinical Psychology at Macquarie University.

I draw on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)-informed strategies and behavioural interventions. I also have experience supporting children and adolescents with anxiety through the Cool Kids CBT program.
