Rory Julian

Provisional psychologist

I am a provisional psychologist who has just completed a Masters of Professional
Psychology. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of
Wollongong and then completed my Honours (first class) and Master’s courses at Southern
Cross University in Coffs Harbour.

I have experience working with children and adolescents as I have been a residential youth
worker for the last two and a half years. In this role I worked in crisis refuges, supporting
teenagers facing homelessness in the Sutherland Shire and the St George area. I have also
recently completed a four-month placement as part of my studies, working as a school
Psychologist which caters for children from Kindergarten up to Year 12 in Coffs Harbour. This role provided me valuable experience working with students presenting with Autism, ADHD and those with learning challenges. In the school setting I also had the experience working with adolescents presenting with anxiety and depression.

I am looking forward to expanding my skills and working with people of all ages. Am passionate about mental health and fostering a safe space within therapy, free of judgement. My aim is to focus on the connection between client and Psychologist and feel I am genuine and compassionate when meeting people.

Primarily my experience is using CBT and will continue to develop further skills in other evidence-based therapies over the course of my internship year.

I look forward to working with you.
